UK GEMINI Metadata Standard Launched at AGI2004

The UK GEMINI (UK Geospatial Metadata Interoperability Initiative) Profile was launched on Tuesday 12th October, at the official opening of AGI2004.

The profile is the result of a year-long collaboration between the AGI and the Cabinet Office e-Government Unit, with additional representation from national and local government, and the academic community.

To find out why your organisation would benefit from implementing UK GEMINI, and to view the UK GEMINI Profile, see the Standards and FAQ pages on the GIgateway website.

AGI Cymru Environmental Data Node live on the Data Locator

You may have noticed a new addition to the Data Locator recently. An additional node housing Welsh environmental data is now available to users, who will be able to source information from the Countryside Council for Wales, and the Welsh branch of the Environment Agency. This new node is a great asset to the GIgateway service and is a step in the right direction to meeting our aim of providing metadata for the whole of Great Britain.

If you have metadata that could be published via the AGI Cymru node, or any other suitable directory, or you are interesting in setting up and hosting your own company or regional node, then please get in touch with Robert who will be happy to offer advice and assistance.
